Acara Solutions has been providing advanced manufacturing clients with our staffing related services for over 60 years. Our national manufacturing client has an opening for a Director of Human Resources in their Norwalk, CA plant. This is a direct salaried opening with full benefits. The Salary range is $150K to $170K plus bonus.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and HR management experience in a manufacturing plant.
The plant Director of Human Resources will be responsible for leading and managing the HR function at our Norwalk site, supporting the operations and functional teams. This role will serve as a strategic partner to the site leadership team, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with business objectives, and will play a critical role in driving organizational development, talent management, employee relations, and compliance initiatives.
This role will manage key talent management activities for the site to include: talent development, succession planning, performance management, strategy deployment, strategic workforce planning, etc.
* Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with site leadership and functional teams to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support these goals.
* Talent Management: Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies, ensuring the site attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
* Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to management and team members on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
* Organizational Development: Lead initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, including change management, team development, and leadership training.
* Compensation: Conducts salary assessments and reviews in partnership with corporate Total Rewards team to ensure competitive and equitable offerings that align with company policies and market trends.
* HR Metrics and Reporting: Develop and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives for the site and provide insights to leadership for informed decision-making.
* Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Champion DEI initiatives at the site, fostering an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
* HR Projects: Lead or participate in company-wide HR projects, ensuring the successful implementation of HR programs and initiatives at the site level. Work closely with HQ on national initiatives.
* Training and Development: Implement and facilitate training and development programs tailored to the needs of the site in conjunction with standard offerings and training requirements for the Corporation.
* High Performing Teams: Partners with functional leaders to implement and support high performing team framework for site.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of HR management experience, with at least 3 of those years in a manufacturing environment.
The above experience should include:
* In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations (especially California).
* Ability to analyze HR metrics and use data to drive decisions.
* Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Prior experience in HR leadership in a manufacturing environment.
* A background supporting production floor employees (hourly)
Min 2 years of payroll processing experience and/or payroll oversight.
This is an aerospace ITAR facility, U.S. Persons required.

* Language: Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
